Under the obligations in the lease or the High Court Judgement, the lessee/leaseholder or the freeholders of houses are obliged to provide the Company with evidence of buildings insurance; this is for the benefit of all owners.
For the avoidance of doubt, buildings insurance in respect of flats is arranged by the Company, and the premiums are recovered directly from the relevant owners.
The Company does not retain copies of individual insurance policies on file due to GDPR restrictions. Notwithstanding this, all lessees/leaseholders and freeholders of houses must ensure that their property is always adequately insured to the correct levels and must be able to produce evidence of such insurance to the Company upon request.
